Default Game student

Hi all,
Im a student of games studies at IT-University of Denmark. Im currently investigating the use of Addons in MMOs (an addon is an addition made for a game, which functions in itself without any additions) And therefore I have made a questionnaire which I would be really happy if you would answer. The link for the questionnaire is here: http://www.esurveyspro.com/Survey.as...1-707a949cbce1
Thank you for your time.
See you in game ^^

Done and filled out. I believe Texmod counts as an "addon" as it can modify certain aspects of the game to be different visually, such as health bars, maps, etc. I count those as addons.

I cannot answer some of your questionaire ... because I don't play WoW...

you might want to go check out Second Life, its a whole mmorpg that revolves around add ons.

I suppose Teamspeak and Ventrilo count as Add-ons too. I'm filling it out a bit but some questions are a bit vague regarding about which game they are talking about.

I first thought you where talking about the burning crusade, takes a few down to notice you mean 3d party modifications and/or software.

I tried, but I struggle to understand what you mean in some of the questions.
Do I miss addons when playing GW? as in they had addons before but not anymore?

I used to play MU btw crazy times... it's the only game I've ever actively go and look for hacks, since everyone seems to be doing it and the open pvp system means people were just pricks. Played an elf back then and though I was doing quite well with help from a friend I eventually saw the light... you waste your time grinding away without any real rewards.

I filled it out, also. Although I think you shoud go back, and review your questions to involve "No opinion" selections. You also need fix your wording, and grammar, on some of the questions.

What the heck is "addon"? It feels like this survey was created by some 14-year-old on lunchbreak in computer class.

Just to help you out, your survey is fatally flawed.

You have only yes or no for all questions in which someone may have never played the game. Therefore, you will fundamentally get a much larger percentage of NO answers when reviewing the compiled data, and will have a indeterminately skewed spread sheet of answers. I suggest starting over and adding a N/A option to any game-specific questions.

Dude, it's game studies.

How empirical can this ever possibly be?

As empirical as he desires in order to get an accurate study of his subject. Regardless of your perception of the study of games, I would prefer to be as accurate as possible when it comes to doing any sort of research.

The flaw isn't a minor one. If only makes sense if you have played all three games he proposes. If you haven't then the answers get skewed and if it is for school and he has to explain it, then hes SOL. No professor of any acedemic regard would award a good grade based on a flawed survey.
